Costs

Please note: These are estimates only.  Tuition and fees are set by the University of Michigan each year.

1. Estimated total tuition for the 15-month program (2010-2011):  $24,660 (Michigan residents: $16,380)*

2. Estimated total fees (2010-2011): $2500 (includes standard fees and global program fee)

3. Housing for Geneva residencies: approximately $1,100 per residency -- includes shared room and breakfasts. Weekday lunches and dinners are available at reasonable cost on site.

4. Transportation to Geneva: actual cost (participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the residencies). 

5. Health insurance/travel insurance:  All students will be assessed a small fee for travel health insurance provided through the university.

6. While the majority of course materials and software will be available free online, participants should plan on spending some money on books and software.  Participants will also need to bring a wi-fi enabled laptop (either Macintosh or Windows) to the Geneva residencies.

* Based on 36 credit hours at an estimated average tuition rate of $685 per credit hour ($455 for Michigan residents).  Tuition is billed each semester for the number of credits taken at that time.



Scholarships and financial aid

NEW: The Office of Graduate Programs will be awarding modest scholarships to a limited number of Global Program applicants.  No additional application materials are necessary for these special scholarships.  Recipients will be notified in January.

In addition, Global Program participants may apply separately for scholarships and loans through the University of Michigan - Flint.  Participants are encouraged to seek financial support from employers or other sources as well.

Financial aid packages for Global Program participants will take into account travel and living expenses for the Geneva residencies.

University-wide scholarships of particular interest include:
